Spaghetti Night Gift Bundle

Give a simple gift. Easy for you and easy for the recipient.
Give an easy Spaghetti Night. No stress added.
I've given this Spaghetti Night Bundle to pregnant women, sick moms, mom's with sick kids and more! This stays together in a pantry for the mom or dad who has more to worry about than dinner. We've all been there, or ARE THERE, where we are too busy with children, work, church, school etc. When we open the pantry we want something to POP out and make itself! Spaghetti is made in 20 minutes and is stress free.
What a kind, practical/USEFUL gift!

Spaghetti Night Bundle

1 lb. Spaghetti Noodles

1 large can or jar of Spaghetti Sauce.

Peanut Butter Taffy Balls

Fun story for you, I got this recipe from my daughter's preschool. They made this as edible play dough. My daughter June asked her teachers for the recipe and they made copies for all the students. Cute little girl, always looking out for me with fun new recipes to post!

I made these Peanut Butter Taffy Balls for a super bowl treat! They were a HUGE hit! My niece came up to me and said, "These taste like the peanut butter part of Reeses!" I tasted them again, and they did! MY FAVORITE PART OF MY FAVORITE CANDY! YUMMM.............
Can't wait to make these again and again.

Thanks Busy Bee Preschool!

Peanut Butter Taffy Balls

1 c. Creamy Peanut Butter
1 c. Light Syrup or Honey - (or both)
1 1/2 c. Powdered Sugar
1 1/2 c. Powdered Milk

Mix with a spoon until it turns the same color, then knead with your hands.

Too sticky? Add more dry ingredients!

Long Lasting Apple Platter

My good friend Amber, from Dessert Now Dinner Later had an apple preserving experiment and came up with this AMAZING way to keep sliced apples from browning. It seriously is going to change my life - and yours too!

I tested my apples just like she did and the results were phenomenal! The apples were so good that I even took a platter of heart cut apples to my daughter's preschool Valentine's party! Healthy and ADORABLE! This was so simple and we've been snacking on an addition platter of apples I cut yesterday! They are still not browning 32 hours later! AHH! It's AWESOME!

This is a simple, fun way to bring shapes and a little extra love to any fruit platter!
Slice your apples and cut them with cookie cutters!

Happy Valentine's Day!
xoxo

Steps for Long Lasting Apples

1. Take a medium/ small bowl and place 2- 2 1/2 c. cold water.

2. Dissolve a packet of EMERGEN-C in the water bowl.

3. Cut your apples. Cut them, slice them, dice them, whatever you want!
(If cutting them out with a cookie cutter make your slices a little thicker)

4. Place the cut apples into the Water & Emergen-C Solution and let soak for 5 minutes.

5. Place the apples on a platter and serve!

6. Any leftovers, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Easy Fudge Brownies

Homemade brownies sounded AMAZING, but the problem was I have never made them! Say what? Never made homemade brownies? What kind of cooking blog is this? It's true, talk about confession; our family has always need lazy with brownies, we LOVE brownie mixes and just always use those. It was late and the store was about to close so we couldn't run and grab a mix. So, I took to my ANCIENT Better Homes and Garden's cook book that is practically disintegrating and put it to good use. (It was a wedding present at my parent's wedding over 40 years ago! They let me borrow it).

I found a simple Fudge Brownie recipe and it was AMAZING! The perfect rich fudge brownies!
Seriously DELICIOUS! I can't wait to keep using this recipe instead of a mix. A little bit more work, but it has such a richer taste.

Easy Fudge Brownies

1/2 c. Butter
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate bakers squares
1 c. Sugar
2 Eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
3/4 c. Flour

Preheat oven to 350.

In a medium sauce pan melt butter and chocolate. Remove from heat and stir in the sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, then add the vanilla. Stir in the flour and mix well.
Spread in a greased 8x8 pan.
Bake at 350 for 30 minutes. Be careful not to overbake.
Cool completely and cut into squares! Delish!

Here's the ancient Better Homes and Garden's cookbook. All of the pages are yellow/brown from age and I swear the only thing holding this together is love! Talk about an AWESOME recipe index for basics, even if it is over 40 years old.
